In the Quay Commander window, you do not need to split work-queue blocks to plan a shift transition because you can link the shifts. However, depending on your vessel planning operation, you may need to split a work-queue block that contains completed moves to improve the accuracy of your reports, or split a work-queue block to divide work between cranes (for example to assign 40’ containers to one crane and 20’ containers to another).
To split a work-queue block in the Quay Commander window:
In the Quay Commander window, select the work-queue block to split.
From the Actions list, select Split Selected Queue.
In the Work Queue Split dialog box, click the Split Seq# list and select the location of the split.
XPS lists the work instructions in sequence.
Click OK.
XPS splits the work-queue block placing the selected work instruction into the new work queue.
